Marissa Shumaker

Marissa is a third-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine in Temple. She currently serves as the Lone Star Survival 2025-2026 Executive Director. Marissa received a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. Afterward, she was a Research Scientist at the Averkiou Laboratory in Seattle before attending medical school. She enjoys community health education and training.

Avery Christensen

Avery is a third-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine in Temple. He currently serves as the Lone Star Survival 2025-2026 Associate Director. Avery received a B.S.A. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. He enjoys teaching and public health education.

Kellie Walker

Kellie is a fourth-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she is pursuing an MD/MPH dual degree. She is serving as the 2025-2026 Public Relations director. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for over 3 years prior to medical school and currently is a BLS and ACLS instructor in the Texas Medical Center. She is applying to Emergency Medicine residency this year..

Rylan Fowers

Rylan is a fourth-year medical student at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He is serving as the Financial Director. Rylan received a B.S. from Brigham Young University. He is interested in a career in Anesthesiology.
